Here is our SEVEN POINT PROGRAMME - OUR TARGETS.

1. TO REDUCE inhibitions about discussion of death and dying
2. TO INCREASE awareness that the final phase of life is important to those who are experiencing it.
3. TO PROMOTE three basic freedoms
   1. freedom from pain
   2. freedom from indignity
   3. freedom from loneliness.
4. TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES to assist with the home care of patients nearing the end of life.
5. TO ENCOURAGE the study of palliative care as a worthwhile career for nurses and doctors.
6. TO PRESS for increased spending in the health care industry on palliative care for the dying.
7. TO ESTABLISH centres of excellence (Hospices)
   to bring palliative care to the community.
