ASAMBLEAS
La última ASAMBLEA GENERAL ANUAL de la Asociación se han celebrado el 4 de deciembre de 2009.
Our Asamblea in May 2009 approved the submission of new Estatutos y Reglamentos Internales. In July 2009 we were informed that they have been accepted by the Ministry of Justice. This is almost entirely due to the hard work and persistence of our vice-president José Antonio Corachán Marzal and gives us a standing in officialdom which is second to none.
Many thanks, José.
The Statutes set out in broad terms what we are permitted to do as a not-for-profit Association. The Internal Regulations set out how our members should conduct themselves within the organization. Like school rules, they are designed ensure order and cohesion as our numbers grow.
Our top priority is the promotion and provision of palliative care for those in advanced and/or final stages of life-threatening illness: this includes care and concern for their loved ones and those who mourn.
The new Statutes allow us to pursue these aims by offering to professional health care workers and students scholarships to enable them to undertake post-graduate studies in palliative care. Auxiliaries, nurses, doctors and consultants all have special courses available to them but may not be able to afford them. Yet the knowledge now available may be of very great value to terminal patients and their families. We want to spread that knowledge.
Our New Statutes & Regulations make it easier for us to do so.
