OFFICIAL RESIDENTS OF SPAIN MAY FIND THAT THERE IS A TIME DELAY BEFORE THESE RIGHTS CAN BE CLAIMED IN UK. CONSULT THE NEAREST BRITISH CONSULATE ABOUT THIS.
If you plan to return by air remember that it can be expensive. A plane’s captain may insist that one or two nurses with specialist qualifications on inflight care must accompany you.
If you can afford an air ambulance the doctor who accompanies the aircraft is likely to visit you and decide if you are well enough to risk the journey.
If you have no funds and your local consulate is unable to help, we suggest your carers talk to CRUZ ROJA which has a repatriation scheme as part of its programme. Most such repatriations are to South America but there is no harm in asking !
