HOISTS are usually “portable” and available to order from any good orthopaedic shop. which should have a qualified technician to ensure you obtain a suitable design for intended purpose (e.g. bed-chair-bed, bed-toilet-bed, bed-bath-bed). With the appropriate hoist a frail older person may safely make the transfer of a heavy patient which might otherwise require the help of up to three nurses.
LIFTS are usually permanent installations and we recommend the firm mentioned below , which has given our patients good service for over 10 years.
