¿ QUÉ ES EL CUIDADADO PALIATIVO ?
Según la ORGANIZACIÓN MUNDIAL DE SALUD( Reportaje Técnico Serie 804, Cancer, Pain & Palliative Care, O.M.S. 1990: 11)
El cuidado paliativo es el cuidado total activo de pacientes cuya enfermedad no responde a tratamientos curativos.
El control del dolor, de otras síntomas y de los problemas psicológicos, sociales y espirituales está en otro nivel.
La meta del cuidado paliativo es el lograr la mejor posible calidad de vida tanto para los pacientes como para sus familiares.

What Is Palliative Care?
“Palliative care is the active total care of patients whose disease is not responsive to curative treatment.
Control of pain, of other symptoms, and of psychological, social and spiritual problems is paramount.
The goal of palliative care is the achievement of the best possible quality of life for patients and their families.”
